Ember Edwards is the main protagonist of The Ember Effect by Joseph Evans. She lives a very hard life - her parents have little time for her, and she is often sad due to her loneliness at school. After the most popular girl, Alice, humiliates her, she falls into a portal, travelling to the futuristic world of Eterna. Ember then navigates her life from the new dimension.
Ember was raised by her alcoholic parents, who were always drunk and never seemed to care about her. However, at her school, she was always bullied by the school's most popular girl, Alice.
Though often bullied at school, she is often described as beautiful. She has auburn hair with big brown eyes. Her complexion is light, with a slight tan.
